Save yourself the trouble and stay in Copacabana. The customer service here at this hotel is the worst I have ever experienced. Which is unfortunate because brazil is typically on a whole different level in regards to customer service. The paid parking is not valet style parking but just self parking in the mall parking lot. There was no one to help with luggage. The front desk hardly answered our calls. The room was not cleaned well, we found used eye lashes in the bed, mirrors unwashed with dust and finger prints, shower doors covered in water stains, stone shower walls yellowed. Bedroom door stuck to the frame so very hard to open/close. (we thought the keycard was wrong because it wouldn't budge). We left for hours and returns to our room not cleaned yet, maids thought we didn't speak Portuguese and disrespectfully talked about our interactions with them as we waited for the elevator. Maids wouldn't leave towel, and it took hours for anyone to come bring towels back to our room. No one told us the pool was going to have a construction zone literally feet away. Jackhammering and all.
And the wifi was unsecured. Would let you connect but didn't actually work.
The experience was so bad we left after only a few days of our week stay.
