艾瑪飯店(Hotel Emma)

Hotel Emma hanteert grote prijsverschillen! Wij hebben 240€ (incl ontbijt) betaald voor 1 overnachting + uitrij-ticket van 20€. De toeristen aan de balie moesten maar 118€ betalen..dit was een meer correcte prijs geweest gezien de verbouwingen waar we inzaten! Personeel was wel heel vriendelijk! Ik vond de prijs van het ontbijt niet waard voor hetgeen dat we kregen.. We hebben ons goed geamuseerd in de mooie stad, maar het dure verblijf blijft een domper, spijtig!!

If you're looking for a place with great beds and friendly staff to get your head down, then I can't rate the Emma Hotel highly enough! After checking in and taking the lift, (yes I said lift, something which isn't easy to find with reasonably priced accommodation in Rotterdam), up to our floor, we made our way to the 'Superior room'. Upon first entering the room we were very pleased with size of it. There was a small entry hall with a shelf for your bag and hat etc and hooks for your coats. To the right was the bathroom and ahead the main room equipped with the bed, TV, chair, desk, coffee machine and mini fridge. The large, almost full-length windows give the room an even more spacious feel with lots of light and a nice view over the street of this great central location, which was great for people watching or looking at some of the crazy driving out there!! The bed looked clean and comfy and the requested extra 2 pillows had been added :) The bathroom was one of the highlights of this accommodation, it was large with sufficient towels and toilet paper and a large radiator which kept the room warm and your towels toasty for drying off after enjoying some relaxation in the amazing bath!!. Though not long, it was deep and great for some recharge time, with a glass of wine, after walking around exploring Rotterdam through the day. The shower was small but sufficient, I would say the water was rather cool from the shower and couldn't be put up any higher. A bit of a shame, but certainly not a deal breaker if I was to visit Rotterdam again. After a long day and a great bath the bed was next to try and I will say I slept like a baby. The bed was very comfy. I have back issues and some beds aggravate it terribly, but I had absolutely no problems in the morning after sleeping here. The pillows may be a bit too thick for me, but this is a subjective view and I think many places have these overly fat pillows. The staff were always very friendly and there were never any issues getting in or out of the hotel, even outside normal hours. Your door keycard works until the evening, when for security you need to ring the bell for the receptionist to let you in. You can also use the Emma website. By entering your booking within the website, you can open the front door to the hotel and also your room door. I found this a very very handy addition. If all this wasn't enough to convince you to stay with the Emma Hotel. The coffee in the foyer will. It's free and honestly some of the best coffee I had while in Rotterdam. There is also tea and biscuits on offer. I made good use of this facility and was grateful for its presence. Overall, I rate the Emma Hotel 5/5. -Ontbijt is aan de overkant van de straat waar je best even moest wachten en werden je broodjes al afgeruimd terwijl je nog niet klaar was, niet netjes! - In het weekend waren ze een kamer aan het verbouwen....lees: boren en hakken. - medewerker achter de receptie is wel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. - hotel prima op loopafstand van het centrum.

Bien accueillis et bonne literie. Cela malgré la confirmation d’un grand lit pour chaque chambre. Arrivés dans notre chambre, 2 lits jumeaux collés. La déception. Mais les lits sont très confortables. Pas de restauration sur place. Pour les petits déjeuners, un partenariat avec un restaurant servant des brunchs. Accueil très compliqué chaque matin (4 jours) : bizarre, les filles ne sont pas accueillantes contrairement aux garçons très souriants et disponibles. Bref… Un parking avec peu de place et une gestion par le personnel assez disparate. Il a le mérite d’exister et c’est un plus.

The hotel is well located in the center of Rotterdam, the room is clean and the price is not excessive. There is no air conditioning, but there is a large, quiet ceiling fan. For breakfast, you have to go to a restaurant which is located three minutes walk from the hotel where you receive a hearty and varied breakfast, but always the same every day. Having stayed five days, I received five tickets for breakfast. However, I learned on the penultimate day that the restaurant only opens at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, instead of 7:30 a.m. on other days. As this did not suit me at all because I had to take a train at 9:15 a.m., I requested a refund for this last ticket, which was categorically refused. I don't understand at all this non-commercial and rigid attitude for a customer who stayed five days, especially since the host could resell this unused ticket to a next customer.

The place was great. The self check in and out was super efficient and the ability to enter with your phone was great. Beds were comfy but the pillows we were not used too. Plenty of PowerPoints and fans for the hot days. About a 10 min walk from the central station and close to all things Netherlands if you get my drift 😄

Very customer friendly staff, no hassle, nice clean bedding, great location, good price. They have a nice little terrace looking over the city cenyte. I would want to come back next time when I visit Rotterdam.

Sometimes the best thing you can hope for in a hotel is having staff who will help you while abroad. I was stranded close to Hotel Emma and Reno not only helped me solve the problem, but also offered me a cup of coffee while at it.
