寺廟廣場金博爾飯店(The Kimball at Temple Square)

There was a terrible smell in the room. I tried to air it out. When I got back from my dinner the desk was closed so I stayed in the terrible smelling room. I checked out early in the morning . No one was at the desk yet. I sure hope they look into the terrible smell.

It is an older but cute motel. My child said that it was classy! We loved the convenience of having a mini apartment to stay in. Having an actual table to eat at was so wonderful. Updated pillows, softer towels and newer mattress would make it the best in my book. Being close to Temple square was a major plus in my trip. I had a child singing at the Tabernacle and it was nice that we didn’t have to travel far from The Kimball to get where we were going.

In town for work meetings. Front staff was great, found another room for me because the first had a terrible smell. Second room was nice, large Jacuzzi tub. BUT half of jacuzzi tub floor was covered with grimy shadow, and discovered later that evening that the shower stall was very dirty! The grout looked like it had not been cleaned in months - with black mold between the ceiling tiles in the shower! Mold like that does not grow in a week, or even a month! Serious lack of cleanliness and sanitary conditions. Ended up having to try and "shower" in the Jacuzzi in the morning because I didn't want to step foot inside the shower, very inconvenient. I was in work meetings from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Front office hours are 9-7 so never had an opportunity to talk to anyone after my initial check-in. Pillows felt like they were 20 years old. Very disappointed, will not be returning.

I was in communication with this property for several weeks prior to our stay about parking, as they can only guarantee one space per room. Thankfully this part worked out. It took about 30 min to check in after hours because i literally spent 15 min on their after hours phone waiting for the clerk to answer. Once he did, he did, it took another 10 min for him to figure out the code for the safe to get my keys. After 2 texts to his supervisor, he gave me instructions on parking. There were 2 other families waitng after me to check in. After several other small things like a broken chair that pinched my daughter's buttocks through her pants, they ended the bad week with half the hotel losing power and me having to haul all my family's suitcases down several flights of stairs due to the elevator being down with the power. They had a bad week!

When you can find a discount/deal on their rooms, they are hard to beat! Been here twice now and will always try to stay here when I'm in the area, if I can find a discounted room, cuz they are more than worth it at that point. Only downside is no breakfast.

The Kimball has lots of positives! There was only one negative during this stay. The bathtub filled up so quickly with water while showering you had to stand in lots of water, bad drainage. Hopefully, nearby construction ends soon so power doesn’t get turned off again.
