南大街第五紀念日旅館(The Anniversary Inn - Fifth South)

So disappointed in this place now. We have stayed here before in the past and liked it. This time I say on the website that they had rose petals and chocolate strawberries to be in the room when you get there. When we arrived, they were not in the room. I went to talk to the front desk and the guy there gave me some strawberries and rose petals. The manager came out and said it was because I need to order them 48 hours ahead of time and he took them away from me. The front desk guy asked the manager what is wrong. The manager said they are for people that ordered them ahead of time. He didn't even apologize. How hard is it for their website to recognize the time of the order and not let you order them?

This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the 5th S. location, and it ended up being our favorite room so far. For this visit we stayed in the French Connection under a "Suite of the Month" promotion and loved everything about the room. I wasn't sure what to expect, this being one of their lowest tiered rooms (a ruby room), but you can tell there was no oversight in the thought and details that were put into this suite. We loved being transported to Paris for a quick overnight stay, and even the SLC trax running outside the room wasn't overly bothersome as it added to that big city feel. The exposed brick was beautiful, the tub was huge, and the bed was quite comfortable. We're looking forward to returning in the future. FYI: This room is on the 3rd level so be aware that you'll be going up a good amount of stairs (no elevators), but the bonus of this location is not having anyone above you, and only one other suite shares the same side of the hallway so it's relatively quiet other than outside street noise.

We did not stay at the location on 5th South, We stayed at the location on South Temple but we did interact with an employee at the South Temple location and both locations are under the Management of Julie. We stayed here for two nights for our one year wedding anniversary. Over the course of our stay the service was mediocre, our breakfast was served to us room temperature and bed was extremely uncomfortable. The worst thing about this trip though was the manager, Julie. The reason she threatened to call the cops was unbelievable. When I made the reservation, I selected the late checkout which was at 1pm instead of noon. I got a confirmation email that clearly showed that I had added the late check out to our reservation. At 12:13 on Sunday we got a phone call from Julie at the front desk. She informed me that were past our checkout time. I told her that we had the late checkout. She said that they "don't do late check out on Sundays". I was very confused and told her that I had the confirmation email that showed we had late checkout, but Julie did not care. She did not apologize for the miscommunication and she became very rude. At this point we were completely unpacked. We needed to shower and we didn't even have clothes on. Our stuff was strewn all over the room. I told her that we needed some time to get ready to leave and she said that the best she could do was 12:30. I told her that we wouldn't be able to leave by 12:30, it would take us more time than that to get everything ready to go. She replied by saying "If you are not gone by 12:30 then I will call the cops". We ended up having to shove everything into any bag we could and scramble around picking up all of our stuff. We still liked Anniversary Inn's other locations however so we wanted to get a bounce back pass. So we went over to the location on fifth south to buy a bounce back pass. When we tried to buy it the man behind the counter told us that we were banned from the Anniversary Inn. I explained to him what had happened at the other location. What he basically said to us was he didn't care what we said, he would only listen to what Julie said. I asked him if there was any way to appeal the ban or even file a complaint. To that he said basically there was nothing we could do. It doesn't seem like Anniversary Inn cares about their patrons at all. If I were you I would not stay at the anniversary Inn. It is overpriced and underwhelming.

Spent one night in the "Log Cabin" room. Loved the attention to detail in the room. Staff was attentive and accommodating. Location good However, heater never came on in the room and no extra blankets. Breakfast never arrived, even after request.

My husband surprised me with a stay at this hotel for my birthday and I was blown away by the atmosphere of the rooms. I won't post pictures so that folks aren't spoiled, but we stayed in the Meadow room and the room is utterly gorgeous! Atmosphere: At least in the Diamond Suite we were in, they put so much detail into the room and ambiance. The walls were painted to match the theme of the room and had a lot of details in it! Just about every nook and cranky takes you to a magical place, even the bathtub was decorated so! It also felt like the decorations didn't get in the way either, which is a bonus in my opinion. 5/5 Functionality: The room itself had multiple TVs in different areas that worked nice and one was easy to use. They offer DVDs downstairs that are complementary with your stay and they have some modern ones as well. No Blu-ray ones though, so they won't have crisp quality. The bathtub was amazing and the jets worked as expected along with the waterfall flow. Toilet and sink worked as expected too. They do have a mini-fridge in the room, but it's very mini, I don't think I could've stored leftovers if I had brought some. One thing that the room is missing sadly is a microwave, but the staff are happy to microwave something for you if needed (such as popcorn). 4/5 Food: We did try some dinner and breakfast they offered and it was pretty mediocre. Nothing really special and for the price I could get something tastier elsewhere. The breakfast is better though and they are allergy friendly to tree nuts at least, so it's a plus for those with allergens. 3/5

We had a lovely stay at the 5th South location. The man who checked us in was friendly and courteous. The room matched all the photos, but was even better in person. The themed room had a lot of attention to detail in the decor. It was meticulously clean and the bed was very comfortable as well. Breakfast was delivered to our room at the exact time we had ordered it. We will definitely be back again for another Anniversary!

We've stayed 3 times at the Anniversary Inn and had great experiences each time. The themed rooms are fun & different from any hotel we've been to.

We came for our anniversary weekend and absolutely loved this room! This has been the 4th room that we have stayed in. My husband says this one is his favorite so far. It was a really fantastic room.
