newly redone, this comfy place is a bit quirky, but maybe the best value i've ever had in SF. spacious room, perfectly fine amenities, clean, comfy, not your typical room that looks like any other hotel -- just a bit quirky. not the smoothest check-in, but still fine. location is easy. bit dicey neighborhood sometimes in terms of wandering homeless and such, but you're in SF these days, and that is not the hotel's fault. they do have friendly security folks moving around and nearby at all times, for those who like that kind of extra comfort. 'breakfast' is not much, but c'mon folks, this place is SO reasonably priced and there are plenty of nearby options.

Great location with newly renovated, spacious room for stay--just as shown in their photos. I had a king bed and a sofa bed in the room, nice and clean. I requested one facing the backyard, so it is actually pretty quiet for a busy city. The front desk staff members are super friendly and helpful! In the first night I noticed the original cover tag on the shower knob is broken--which is really a very minor thing, and they replaced it by the next morning with a new one. There is a cafe right downstairs which is very convenient. Travelers may worry about homeless people around the downtown San Francisco area, but this hotel itself feels very safe. The elevator and the door need card access and there is always someone available at the front desk. Overall, 5 start for a spacious and inexpensive room in the heart of SF!

My stay at Hotel Fiona was great. At the time of my stay they were offering free parking, which seems like a rarity in the city, so it was incredibly convenient -- especially knowing that it was an enclosed garage with a security guard. At check-in the lady helping me could not have been friendlier. My room was also cleaned without requesting, another thing that's pretty rare these days, so I was very happy with the service. Room was really spacious and clean with a comfortable bed. I don't believe it had a mini-fridge, which I normally prefer, but that was fine. WiFi and TV both worked well. If there's any complaint, my room faced the street, so if you're a light sleeper (I'm not) then you may have trouble with the outside noise. When you walk out the front door and go to the right towards Howard St and Folsom St, you're in what appeared to be a nice and safe neighborhood. If you go to the left towards Mission and Market streets, you're more likely to see more of the homeless population of the city. However, the neighboring hotels have security guards too, plus there are some good hotels around the corner on Mission St. Also, there is a streetcar stop at Market & 7th that easily takes you all the way down to the Ferry Building and even Fisherman's Wharf on the Embarcadero -- so that makes getting around without a car pretty easy. Based on the rate I paid, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Amazing value and high quality. No fridge or microwave... but its hardly an issue considering how easy the parking is, the cleanliness, and the amazing staff. If you are unfamiliar with the area, be aware when walking to shopping the cable car turn around, etc. You need to walk through a slightly sketchy area to get to these things, but if you are a bit aware of your surroundings it's not a problem. Or it's a one minute Uber ride to where you need to go.

The rooms were very cozy and clean. However, the room didn’t have a microwave or mini refrigerator. Our room was adjacent to the street and it was very noisy at night. An interior room away from the street would have been quieter. Our reservation included breakfast, however, when we inquired where and when it would be served, we were informed that no breakfast was served, only coffee and cream.

If you are generally comfortable in downtown SF this hotel is an amazing value. Rooms are clean, quiet, spacious. Staff is great . Onsite parking is secured and free if you book on *******. I stayed here with my teenage daughter for three nights and we were very comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood is a mixed bag but we felt fine.

Cute little hotel. Only complaint was got really hot in the room. Would be great if you could run the fan without heat. Was woke up by other guests screaming outside in the hallway for about an hour at 2:00 am in the morning. Not the hotels fault really, just pack earplugs or turn on white noise. Would stay here again.
