Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah Historic District/Riverfront

The stay was by far exceptional. at checkout however was when we were notified of a $45 per night parking fee, we were not advised upon booking that parking was valet, we parked our own vehicle at our request, the hotel called room requesting we turn in our car key to valet station, we needed item from car on 2nd day..took several attempts to locate our key, upon checkout valet went to car to bring it to us, he returned to us from parking lot and handed us the key stating that he could not drive a manual shift and that they have 1 person that can and he was off that day. so we paid $90 for valet service and parked our own car then after being billed we HAD to carry our bags to parking lot and retrieve our vehicle ourselves, I feel part if not all of the valet parking fee should be returned

Checkin was at 4 and we did not get into the room until 5:40. Room smelled like someone smoked cigarettes in it. There was a brown stain on the carpet that was gross. The location is nice on the river walk. Hotel staff were nice.

The room I paid for was not available. This was apparently the fault of ******* as they sold a room that wasn't available. They were down to one elevator and it was a 10 minute wait to catch a lift. Lastly, the room that I was in wasn't clean and there was a ring of dirt in the bathtub. Horrendous experience but the staff was nice.

Clean and good space for suite kitchen. Just the mattress and pillows are too soft. Also no hotel parking. Valet for $45 or do street parking. Savannah River next door is beautiful.

I was disappointed that when I arrived I was informed that I had to purchase valet parking for an additional $45. This was not included in the fees for the hotel and this was not included any special instructions included in my confirmation for my stay. I was informed that I absolutely had to get valet and that I could not park my vehicle on my own.

I loved the rooftop pool and bar and entertainment at night and they had corn hole game to play and a big gas firepot table and cabanas with loungers to lay in the sun.

Wonderful staff, nice rooftop area, decent food, and bed very comfortable. Room was spacious but the pics show what the extra cost for a river view room looks like.

I didn't like that my room wasn't ready until after 6:30pm. I missed out on my dinner plans. Didn't like the valley parking. I woul much prefer to park my own car

Downtown very nice. Area has lots of construction but easy to get around. I ordered river view as one showed available BUT got a no view room, very disappointing.
