Enjoyed my stay. Was disappointed that even with an elevator you still need to negotiate some stairs with luggage. The beds were a little uncomfortable. It is a beautiful location and the food was absolutely fabulous probably the best I had in Scotland. I would recommend this hotel just be conscious that you will still have some stairs to negotiate with luggage.

When we arrived at the hotel our booking resulted cancelled, but luckily the issue was fixed and we got a room. The room is quiet, bed comfortable, but the bathroom would require some refurbishment and styling.

What a lousy property! The staff was very nice, but the hotel is rundown. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was very stuffy. No a/c or fans. You had to leave your windows open but there was no shear curtain so other guests could see into your room. Overall it is very rundown. Terrible! It really only caters to large tour groups (I was forced to eat dinner & breakfast in the bar). Toilet did not flush well either. Don’t stay here if you can avoid it!

Whilst the hotel does have a lift, it only provides accessible access to a few rooms. Most of the rooms require going up & down stairs & along several corridors. Floor is uneven in places. Would not recommend it to anybody with mobility problems. Fortunately passing staff did help me with my case on some of the stairs. My TV was not working so I had go all the way down to reception, as no phones in rooms, I then had to go back down an hour later as still waiting for somebody to look at it & stumbled on a dangerous step behind a door, needs a proper yellow health & safety warning sign. Receptionist asked my room number again, so clearly had lost the original note she took. The breakfast was good, last time I stayed there wasn't much left in the buffet & the staff started helping themselves, whilst guest were still eating.

The stay was very good for the price.. the staff were very helpful and friendly.. my room was a bit dated but very adequate for my needs.. two minor things, the shower was quite poor, no water pressure and difficult to control.. I did use it each day tho.. second is not much choice in the restaurant so we ate out at some really nice places in town that were walking distance. Most notable was the Wee Puffin

We wanted to like this property more than we actually did. Every floor and door creaks, the walls are thin, the pillows are flat, and the breakfast, while generous, was a buffet with mostly cold items. We were disappointed.

Poor customer service-. 1.When arrived noticed I had no towels, bath mat and face towels in my room .I reported to reception several times and the receptionist said they would deliver to my room by they never arrived. I had to find a hotel employee who was dealing with laundry to obtain my towels -this was day 2 out of day 3 Hotel repairs and maintenance- 1.The hotel was in very poor state of repair and there was insufficient hot water to fill even half a bath or have or have a five minute decent shower. 2. Shower are within the bath ink curtain so small and poorly designed . Dinners and breakfasts very expensive and I doubt not many people could afford due to cost of living crisis. I dinned out in the village and saved money. I would not recommend staying at this hotel and due to the above as when you report issues to reception they just ignore you .

Nice old hotel just needs some TLC Food at dinner was delicious Breakfast a let down not a great deal of choice No gluten free bread
