Great hotel

What a fantastic stay. Firstly the hotel has been renovated beautifully our superior room was great with everything you could need for a great stay. Secondly we stayed half board and both breakfast and dinner buffets were spot on. Great selection at both with regional and international cuisine. Third and finally the service levels were exceptional throughout the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone whether it be the concierge, a waiter or room service all exceptional. Will 100% return to this hotel

Hotel rinnovato da poco veramente ottimo. Ambienti spaziosi e ben arredati. Ottima posizione per raggiungere qualsiasi parte dell’isola. A poche centinaia di metri si trovano: il traghetto per Valletta, gli autobus (hop on hop off) e le partenze delle imbarcazioni che portano a Gozo e Comino. Personale disponibile e molto cortese. Su mia richiesta, mi hanno fatto trovare una mini torta di compleanno per mia moglie in camera. Amenities sempre presenti e riassortiti ogni giorno. Una sola cosa, a mio avviso, non è all’altezza, la mancanza di una doccia comoda (il bagno è dotato di una super vasca idromassaggio ma non è predisposta per fare una comoda doccia). Nel complesso un ottimo posto, dove tornerei sicuramente.

The recently opened Barceló Fortina Hotel has some amazing views from those rooms facing Valletta. Rooms in the original tower facing the sea retain much of those views. Be warned some have a new balcony overhang which blocks your morning sun. The hotel is rated as 5* star but based on this visit is some way short of that standard. Positives are very friendly staff in most areas and a modern well appointed hotel stay. Areas for improvement include the buffet evening meal which is at best average. Examples include theme nights with no real connection to the food being offered? Please don’t pay the €45 per head there are too many better restaurants nearby. The advertised Beach club is a pool area across a busy road or down a winding tunnel with booming music aimed at a more trendy age group? As a hotel guest be prepared to argue for a good spot near the pool or me pushed out on the fringes. One positive is the food offered at the pool which was delicious and well priced. You have to pay by card or cash, a room number won’t cut it. We will stay again but hope that the points I made to the hotel are at least taken seriously as I was not the only guest to raise them.

Il punto debole è nel prezzo rispetto alla qualità. Se costasse 100 euro in meno a notte sarebbe corretto. Colazione con prodotti non sempre freschi e focalizzati per clientela inglese/tedesca. Stanza bella ma rumori di lavori in corso (della struttura stessa che non ce lo aveva comunicato) e personale della pulizia al mattino. Spa minuscola e con piscina con acqua fredda. Nota positiva la posizione con vista su La Valletta molto bella e facilità a parcheggiare vicino alla struttura (il parcheggio della struttura interno è a pagamento).

Largement surcoté. Si vous avez une chambre côté building vous aurez droit aux odeurs du restaurant et c’était mon cas aux bruits Incessants de travaux. On me propose sensiblement la même chambre. Sans parler du côté sombre des chambres et des couloirs. On me propose sensiblement la même chambre Point de vue service. Ils comprennent vite mais il faut expliquer très longtemps. Au snack j’ai eu une suite d’erreurs de prises de commande et pas d’excuses. Au moment du Check out le vigile m’a couru après alors que tout était réglé. La piscine est accessible après un couloir qu’il faut presque 5/10 minutes à parcourir. Les horaires des piscines sont trop courts. Bref je n’y retournerai pas

The hotel has many lovely qualities but I would not return. Pros - Everyone I spoke to at reception was lovely and polite. Very clean. Great room size with bath and shower. Cons - noise!!! The road outside is so loud you cannot sit and enjoy time on your balcony. This is traffic and construction work. Cost of food - very over priced - we didn’t eat here so cannot comment on quality. My main issue was the pool area. It’s beautiful to look at and the pool itself is a lovely temperature. It is over the road from the hotel which I didn’t love and we felt the staff there didn’t treat us as well as ‘paying guests’ who had paid a daily rate to use the pool. This isn’t run by the hotel and that was the issue. Service was poor and we got really fed up with being ignored. If we went again I would choose a cheaper hotel and go to the lido down the road which you pay to enter for the day.
