熊旅館 - 薩默賽特馬斯頓飯店(Bear Inn, Somerset by Marston's Inns)

No lift to go to 1st floor ,hard for family with kids and luggage Rooms bit old , not bad but camt count as 4 star

Didn't realise that we were in an annexe across the road. We wanted a hotel with the pub onsite. Although just over the road it was miserable weather and that's why we wanted an all in one. The TV remote didn't work but that got resolved and the heating didn't reallyq Ork well. The radiators needed bleeding and we called reception and also messaged but this wasn't resolved.

Overall it was a very very good stay for one night. Now the fan in the room was very dusty and even on full power didn't realy give any cool air. Hot breakfast takes a while as it is cooked to order but I think too long.

No response to my previous reply from either ******* or the Bear Inn itself with my report on arrival of:- -On booking/website there was no notification that the accomodation would be off site, as the rooms inside the actual hotel itself were being renovated, as advised by hotel staff only on arrival, no evidence of this renovation. - The room off site was inferior/impractical/dull/nothing like the pictures shown on the hotel website when booking. - I had to clean spiderwebs off open windows, clean dust/dirt from surfaces in the bathroom and desk on arrival to the off site room as they were filthy. - I reported what looked like blood on the inside of the exterior door of the off site accomodation entrance and this was still there after my three days of residence, great. - My room was serviced/cleaned once only over a three night stay where the website states daily room service. - I tried the hotels dinner on first night, big mistake. Entree Bruschetta was at room temperature, main course curry was the same. Bar staff had no idea about local beers & only response when asked was 'We sell San Miguel alot' and when I chose Amstel beer this went flat very quickly and was not cold. With the contact from ******* asking for my thoughts on arrival on the day that would be forwarded to the hotel manager, I did so, expecting some level of response but after staying there for three nights I have received only another automated email asking the same question. Hopeless.

The room was great, extremely spacious and really nicely decorated.we arrived relatively late and whilst it was no real inconvenience to us, the child’s beds had not been made up. The hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating, it was all made up within 15 minutes, and they very kindly offered us free breakfasts as compensation, which we didn’t ask for but the gesture really was very much appreciated. What a great place to stay, I would highly recommend, and hope we will be back.

When placing the booking it did not indicate that our room would be in another unit of accommodation away from the Inn, albeit just down the road. The bathroom floor was covered in what seemed to be small particles of masonry and the sink was very dirty. The "double" bed was two single beds pushed together leaving a ridge where the two beds joined. On a positive, the staff were very friendly.

Booked a family room but was given a twin room .Swapped to family room but had to ask for linen for 3rd bed .Cleaning not thorough as found a wallet and headphones in room.Shower gel was empty.Bath panel broken and bathroom door needed painting .Clock tower outside chimed every 15 minutes 24 hrs a day Food excellent but despite being told food was served till 22.00 this wasn’t the case as we went for a drink at 21.45 and bar was closed .

Pub, people and service was fine. I was in a room opposite the pub (blossom cottages I think). Bed was fine, made and fresh towels. However it was obvious the room had not been hoovered and the previous residents had been messy. There was remnants of popcorn and kebab over the carpet and the sofa bed someone had spent the evening eating crisps on it.

The accommodation we stayed in was Blossom Cottage, Room 25, which is a short walk from the Bear Inn on the opposite side if the road. The young lady that welcomed us on reception, was very friendly and walked us across to our room. We were there for a 2 night stay and we were not replenished with coffee or milk. The key didn't lock the door so had to get a new set and the bath drained away even with the plug in so to keep it full, you had to keep the tap running.
