白馬旅館(The White Horse Inn)

We booked to stay a night here as we were dining nearby. Had a minor panic when we realised we couldn’t get a taxi back after our meal, but owner John went above and beyond and came and collected us. Absolute superstar. It’s a lovely old pub, with friendly locals and a really relaxed feel…. we stayed in the bar till it closed. The rooms were lovely. Massive incredibly comfy bed, spotlessly clean and well decorated. The added extras, such as fresh milk for our coffee ( not those little plastic things you get most places) and fresh biscuits on arrival made it really special Breakfast was excellent; freshly cooked and all top quality. And loads of it! We went for a walk afterwards and the area is stunning. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. The area

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Charming little village pub downstairs. The owners were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and up there with the best we’ve ever had! We would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.

Nice room, in village dog friendly pub, All very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was pre order which was good and freshly cooked . No evening meals on a Sunday which was a shame but offered to make us a sandwich . Dog made to feel very welcome with own water bowl etc. great place for staying whilst touring this area.

Lovely little pub in a gorgeous part of Yorkshire super king sized bed great breakfast well worth supporting being a very old building access to bedrooms slightly limited. Exposed beams mini bar in room great shower friendly owners worth a visit.

Thoroughly recommend the White Horse in Ampleforth. My wife and I stayed bed and breakfast for two nights and loved it. The hosts, Dawn and John, will bend over backwards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and the cooked breakfasts are delicious and will set you up for the day. They are very amenable and will do what they can to cater for your needs. The bedroom we had was excellent, with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and unlike many other places, a minibar. The building is quite old, so the stairs are on the narrow side but not too bad. All in all, set in an area of beautiful country, it's a great place to stay, peaceful, not expensive and an easy drive to Scarborough, Harrogate, Ripon and York. We will be back for sure.
