聖喬治公寓飯店(Hotel Saint Georges)

Siamo molto oltre la truffa. Qui si viene attirati dalle cinque stelle e dal prezzo moderato. Ma Questa topaia non è un hotel, ma un affittacamere. Non c’è il servizio reception, la colazione viene lasciata fuori dalla porta della camera, non esistono spazi comuni se non all’aperto. È gelido. Io Sono stato in un sottotetto all’ultimo piano, soppalcato, con una crepa spaventosa nel muro. Il letto nel soppalco era raggiungibile attraverso una scala di livello alpinistico, lo spazio sotto il soppalco ara alto meno di due metri, talché una persona Altina non poteva passare senza piegarsi. Tutto pieno di travi, tali da dover fare contorsionismi per attraversare la stanza. Una cuisinette indescrivibile, come potete vedere in foto. Un frigorifero acceso ma vuoto. La sala del cesso, lunga e senza luce, non è riscaldata, così gli escrementi si rifiutano di lasciare l’accogliente e tiepido intestino. Lo sciacquone non funziona e non è in grado di mandare via gli escrementi. Ho dovuto riempire d’acqua il cestino del bagno, scoprendo in tal modo che la relativa busta non viene sostituita. Nel box doccia c’è il muschio verde, sempre come da foto. I rubinetti si muovono. Il flusso d’acqua è irregolare, immagino che dipenda se siano aperti o meno altri rubinetti nei piani inferiori. L’acqua calda c’è solo se c’è una pressione sufficiente, e decisamente la pressione non è sufficiente. La succitata colazione in cestino, in una fredda mattina di dicembre, era gelida, ed era composta da una baguette, due croissant, due mandarini, due panetti di burro scaduti, due pezzettini di formaggio, due vasetti di yogurt, due vaschette di nutella e salumi che hanno impuzzolentito la stanza. Tutto ciò per 40€. Il posto auto, a 20€, non esiste. Il portone è strettissimo, gli stalli ancor peggio è non c’è spazio di manovra. Con macchine sopra i quattro metri e mezzo è meglio lasciar perdere. Il vano scala fa paura, a temperature vicine allo zero. Le travi antiche della stanza sono piene di chiodi e spuntoni. Oggettivamente, le travi e le scale in queste stanze sono pericolose. Questo non è il posto peggiore in cui io abbia dormito nella mia Vita, ma sostenere che questo sia un hotel a cinque stelle fa ridere. Ovviamente non fa ridere chi ci è stato. Ho scritto una recensione qui e una suBooking, voglio vedere se questi ladri hanno il coraggio di replicare qualcosa. Io lascio qualche foto.

E' falso che questa struttura sia un hotel, e tanto meno a cinque stelle, ma neanche un apparthotel, perché mancano i requisiti essenziali perché possa definirsi tale, cioè il servizio di reception, colazione e i luoghi comuni. Non c'è mai nessuno dello staff in orari predefiniti in struttura. Infatti il giorno dell'arrivo sin dalle 8 del mattino iniziano ad inviare una grande quantità di messaggi email ed sms all'ospite per chiedere esattamente a che ora arriverà e per cercare di vendere il cestino della colazione ad € 15, il quale che verrebbe lasciato di fronte alla stanza; pretendono inoltre di essere chiamati 15 minuti prima dell'arrivo perché vengono appositamente solo quei pochi minuti per riscuotere il pagamento della tassa di soggiorno, del cestino della colazione, per aprire il cortile per chi vuole parcheggiare e la stanza. La mia stanza - che era un sottotetto diviso in due parti da una assurda e probabilmente irregolare trave di legno che scendeva dal soffitto fino ad una altezza di 1,5 metri da terra - aveva il lavabo con il chiusino che non si apriva ed era fredda perché il condizionatore non era stato acceso prima. Non esistono inoltre luoghi comuni al chiuso, neppure una sedia dove appoggiarsi, ma solo qualche tavolino e sedia all’aperto, senza alcun servizio di colazione o bar. Inoltre al mio rientro a casa, aprendo la valigia che avevo chiuso nella loro camera, mi sono reso conto di aver lì lasciato il caricabatterie del cellulare che avevo usato quella notte: inutile dire che la cameriera non ha trovato nulla .. In conclusione, come chiunque può verificare su internet, essendo la struttura di fatto un affittacamere (anche se le stesse hanno un piccolo angolo cucina) il costo - che parte da circa € 100 a notte più eventualmente € 15 per il cestino di cose per la colazione ed € 20 per il parcheggio nel cortiletto utilizzabile essenzialmente da autoveicoli piccoli - è anche elevato sia nei confronti di Hotel veri a 4* che affittacamere a Troyes

Très bel endroit, bien situé près du centre historique. Grande chambre en duplex sous les toits, avec coin cuisine. Lieu original, accueil sympathique. Seul petit problème, mon petit déjeuner commandé et payé la veille, et oublié la matin, entraînant une demi-heure de retard.

Bel endroit, un peu complexe pour trouver une place de stationnement. Vieille bâtisse avrc beaucoup de charme.

Le séjour c’est superbement bien passé. Le seul hic que je pourrai trouver, c’est le peu (un seul) de radiateur. La porte laisse passer le froid donc il faut mettre le petit radiateur vraiment fort pour avoir une température convenable. Également j’ai réservé pour deux et il n’y a qu’une tasse et pas de bol pour le petit déjeuner. Hormis c’est quelques points resolvable facilement tout de même, rien à signaler.

The manager of the "hotel" (wich is actually just furnished apartments) was particularly rude and behaved in a completely unacceptable manner. He tried, in a suspicious way and with great insistence, to obtain my bank details by telephone before my arrival, even though the booking had been made regularly with a credit card via ***********. He then lied about the time of arrival and claimed that I was arriving late, even though he had been notified well in advance and accepted the time of arrival. He acted aggressively and totally in bad faith. I realized here, unfortunately a little late, that I'm not the first victim of this disreputable person... In short, this hotel should absolutely be avoided.

Disgusting rooms - stained chairs, bed and peeling ceilings. Rotting wood and rusty sink. Missing parts from showers. See pictures. Spoilt our stay in Troyes. There are far better places to stay in this wonderful town. If you own this place you should be ashamed……

I booked this as our 1st night stop in that part of France, as we usually beetle through La Republique, on way to our pied in Aquitaine on autoroute. Its photos made it look cosy and spacious, sympathetically decorated -ideal for a romantique start to our retired slow travels. Frankly this place is beyond a joke, and probably worst place we ever stayed. Don't go by the photos (as owner jibed to another reviewer). They are of best angles in best rooms and very out of date by looks. We were late arriving 8pm after road delays and no satnav/phone. Shouldn't normally be problem but reception un-staffed ( a first for us). Finally contacted someone who we'd spoken to at mid day to say we were coming from E Belgium so no certain arrival time, to get in and have key, insisted on payment first, including extra payment for the much published courtyard parking (another first). Ordered a breakfast as we had no chance on Sunday to shop. The rooms/apartment - what can one say?? Advertised as redesigned by "top architect" looked like an infant school had done it and got "2/10 must try harder." The decor a confused melange of modern and mock vintage, the furnishings, some worn maybe from a depot vent, ome modern, the most amateur unfitted ceiling plaster board, filthy fireplaces, a dim variety of lights some hanging off walls, no bulbs, wrong bulbs, electric points mid chimney breast, mirrors fixed with wood off cuts and couple of screws, unpainted, "bedside tables" made from skirting off cuts and a bit of offcut to support. It actually was quite no very funny - if you were not paying good money for this total lash up. The "kitchenette" was an oven and sink in a cupboard - I kid you not, with a dodgy placed electric extension lead to power devices actually in sink area (lethal and illegal), a light too, a fridge in another cupboard (complete with dry rot at top, the service pieces like crockery and cutlery looked dirty at best. Another mystery double bedroom ensuite, (was someone else due to arrive?), with another toilet and a pigeon excrement encrusted balcony (pigeons and their crap were everywhere encluding all window sills so couldn't open windows as don't want pigeons in room, or psitticosis pneumonia again -it's lethal and spread by pigeons). The bedroom wardrobe panels had been stoved then/or removed, maybe both leaving a lovely selection of hangers on view in an "antique". The front door outside, and inside were uncloseable and unlockable so were left overnight with a chair against to restrict entry! The TV worked but no joy with the satellite box - we were on holiday not visiting TV satellite engineers - leave it functioning! Thank heavens for the books we brought. Had it been earlier and we'd got key and seen before paying, we'd have been off like shot, but very exhausted we showered then slept. The bed was firm, comfortable clean. That the sole good point.
