Hmmm, The check-in staff were bubbly and attentive, also knowledgeable.
If you want an odour free stay, do NOT stay in room 1.
The moment I opened the door I knew the smell of cooking and greasy/mouldy carpet was going to be a constant reminder of my stay here in Turangi,
If I had been not so so exhausted after my drive I would have requested another room.
Thought I would refresh the room by putting on the AC,
WRONG. The AC unit was so incredibly noisy and also smelt bad. Two things made me decide to permanently turn this unite off. The smell emanating from it and the so so loud unacceptable noise being emitted whatsoever mode was chosen on the AC.
So far 2 major strikes.
Buggar it I thought, was ready for bed anyway.
AC in the upstairs bed room also smelt bed, and whilst a tad quieter than the same sized unit below, was of such volume that I could not have slept with it on.
Hmmmm, I thought the AC noise was significant, and of course it was only after I had turned off these noisy units that the best treat was yet to be felt.
OMFG the ROAD NOISE.... My unit was unfortunately adjacent to the main highway.
The desert road of New Zealand, and I was reminded of this CONSTANTLY and irrevocably.
This unequivocally has to be the NOISIEST place I have stayed in, IN THE WORLD.
Thought I would turn on TUNE-IN for some relaxing sounds. WRONG, the FREE WiFi was so slow that even just a basic feed in Tune-In was unplayable. Consistently buffering and unlistenable.
Avoid at all cost
