Stayed here before, it used to be a lovely traditional Inn with good food, a well stocked bar and friendly staff. Since my previous visit it has changed hands and become a bed and breakfast with gallery attached, the bar is still there but hours seem quite limited. They don't appear to do food anymore. The BnB it's self is clean and tidy, with small but comfortable rooms. The location is iconic, Pennan featuring in the film Local Hero, though this is not the hotel in the movie ( it didn't actually exist in reality, the magic of the movies!) it's not cheap, but you're paying for the location. Bit of a disappoin**ent was the lack of a cooked breakfast. To me one of the joys of staying away is a traditional Scottish fry up, breakfast is available ( at an extra cost) but consists of muesli, some fruit, toast, cheese and meat, a cake, tea and juice. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected. The lack of food would be a real problem of you didn't have transport, or perhaps didn't want to drive.
