法式國際旅舍(French Lodge International)

This was a last minute booking, but was so impressed. Easy to find along the Garden Route and nestled in a quiet suburb. Close proximity to a small shopping centre to stock up on ice or braai items. Speedy check in by Fortune, he was thorough and explained how the flood lights work and we appreciate the lodge tour. Slept peacefully and the water was hot- loved the spa bath tub. Loved the breakfast (three options available), huge portions and so delicious! We wish we had stayed longer- we were on tour and George was our stopover along the Garden Route. There are braai facilities, basic cutlery, coffee station along with a fridge and microwave oven in the room. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you are traveling to George and need super central accommodation, look no further. We were greeted by Fortune, a kind staff member who helped us take our bags to the room. George isn't very big so staying on York street is as convenient as it gets. Breakfast was mediocre, but included, so it kept us filled up for our daytime activities. The swimming pool is the centrepiece of the lodge, so if it's fully booked just be prepared to hear everything going on outside. This is a pro or a con depending on who you are. I quite liked hearing the kids play and laugh around the pool. The jacuzzi adds a splash of romance to the rooms, especially if you are traveling with a romantic partner/s. We initially booked here because we liked the photos of the rondawels, but unfortunately we were placed in the Toulouse cottage which is not a rondawel. Other than the names of the cottages that represent different cities/towns in France, I'm not too sure what makes this lodge french. Would consider returning here if I'm ever in George again.

I found that the rooms and the bedding had a damp smell, so much so that I had to change rooms with one of my colleagues. If this had sorted the problem, I would not write this negative review. However, the bedding in the other room also smelled damp. I appreciate the difficulty of cleaning a thatched roof, however, the first room I was in was covered in spider webs. The Wi-Fi was not working therefore I could not do any work while staying in your establishment. I have to compliment you on the food and the service during breakfast. Fortune was an absolute pleasure to interact with.

Leisure. The people were very nice, just a pity nie bathroom light, the spa bath and during loadshedding the aircon didn't work and we were bitten by the mosquitoes. Loved the people and hospitality though.

A very comfortable and conveniently located place to stay........ lovely big bed and bath! Polite and helpful staff. Appearance from the street could be enhanced........once through the car park it has a super country feel. Good breakfast.

French Lodge was fine for a one night stay over. The spar bath was a very nice addition to the room. Enjoyed the breakfast. Location was conveniently near to shops and restaurants. As said not bad for a one night stay over
