Just what we were looking for, for a relaxing night away from home. Sunday roast menu was very tasty (gravy in particular was delicious. Breakfast was great. The room very comfortable and service polite and courteous. A lovely quiet night away.

The second time we have stayed with our kids. The food was better than ever, quite high end and the service was excellent. Very confrotable rooms.

Exceptionally friendly and warm staff, great accomodation, and good food. We booked a last minute stay. The staff proactively called to see if we wanted dinner, and were very helpful arranging taxis. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Great experience.

Wonderful food, lovely accommodation and great service, if you love excellent food this is a must, the staff cannot do enough for you and you will want to go back

Very welcoming, comfortable bar area with wood burner and decent beer (and gins). Room huge - a little noisey overlooking road but very comfortable with seating area and romantic 4 poster bed. Menu had limited chice but reflected to quality of the food. Interesting wine list. Service good.

Stayed DBB Package. Compact room, small but everything you wanted and very comfy. The size was no problem for an overnight night so you were able to dine and drink with no problems. Very warm welcome from all the staff, they were excellent. The meal we had was delicious, and at no point were you rushed. We had a wonderful stay, we couldn’t fault our stay. We will definitely return!

Loved our stay at this pub. Rooms are comfy, have all essentials. Room 8 had a separate entrance and was at the back of the pub, away from the village road. Quiet. It won't be quiet in the warmer months as it looks over the pub terrace. Very friendly staff. Russell was immensely helpful and nothing was too much of a bother. He made us feel very welcome.

We had an absolutely outstanding stay at The Dog. We were lucky enough to be in Room 4, which is beautiful and luxurious. We started the evening with a drink in the bar which has a lovely, buzzy vibe to it and the welcome is warm and friendly. Dinner was out of this world. We started with the Dockyard Gin trout and the hake scotch egg and both were incredible. The mains were equally good - a wild garlic risotto and sea bream. Of course, no trip to The Dog is complete without pudding!! Such choice, they all sounded wonderful. We were so happy with our choices of yuzu cheesecake and chai panne cotta. Our waiter was superb, attentive and knowledgeable. After a fantastic night’s sleep breakfast was delicious. One of the best breakfasts around.

lovely stay on a dinner,B & B package.The rooms - and, indeed the entire hotel - was immaculate. Cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in and beautifully decorated! Gorgeous food and impeccable service. We were celebrating my 70th and were given our wine free! I would highly recommed The Dog. Wew also met the owner, who was charming!
