聖賈爾斯之家飯店(St Giles House Hotel)

One of the cups in the room was cracked. The bathroom was very dirty - shower cubicle leaked. Limescale corrosion everywhere. Sink didn't hold water. As you look around this room the floor was also mucky, the loo brush holder was in a state - glad I didn't have to touch it. The wardrobe door kept opening, it would not shut - I had to sleep with the lamp on as I could have injured myself if I had to get out of bed during the night. One of the wooden arms on a chair kept coming adrift. The carpet was very dirty. On the list of items on the mini-bar, it stated 2 bags of crisps and 2 bags of nuts - in fact there was only one of each, I did point this out to the receptionist when booking out, she altered the list to read one of each. We noted that the tables we sat at for breakfast were sticky and had obviously not been cleaned properly. The floor was also very dusty. Generally the price we paid for the room was way too much. We would definitely not go the this hotel again.

The room itself was cozy and spacious. The bathroom definitely needs an update. The staff at reception were friendly, but we thought it was unnecessary to charge guests for parking in their parking lot. We also expected help with luggage up to the room, which was not offered. This is definitely not a 4 start hotel but you get what you pay for. It's located perfectly in the city centre of Norwich.

The hotel is nice in that it is an older hotel which adds to the feel of being in England. Staff really friendly. Downside was that bar closes early, no dinner or room service, elevator on 4th floor didnt work going down which was a bit of a pain when leaving eith luggage, and the shower had a mind of its own and kept spraying everywhere. Room was clean though and hotel is cute.

The hotel was rated 4 star. However i dont think it warrented more than a 3 star. The staff we all helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very good, but the accomodation was disapointing. The room was very lack luster and boring. It badly needed decorating as there were dirty marks all over the walls. The furniture was tired and mismatched and the carpet was stained. The bathroom was a good size and had a shower but did not have a bath. This was also tired and in need of attention. The draw under the sink made a terrible screeching noise when you opened it. The shower head was just attached to a hose, and it kept falling down. The hotel was very centrally located and had a lovely exterior facade but it was a shame that the inside didnt match the expectation from the images on the website.

The outside looks very nice however the rooms do not match, definitely past their prime, could do with a lick of paint and some new furniture. Chair in the room was torn. Shower curtain was stained at the bottom from not drying properly, toilet was stained from previous use, carpet has seen better days. Handrail on the stairs falling off and exposed screws. TV available but such poor connection there was no point. The location is great, very central, easy to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. Staff were accommodating

The hotel has a good location in an old building. My room was a reasonable size with a very large bathroom. On Arrival the room was very hot. I had requested non-feather bedding but actually had one feather pillow and a feather quilt (luckily there were 3 non-feather pillows) The building is quite tired and needs some tlc, cracked tiles in bathroom, window frames very rotten. The staff were very cold

THe building outside is tunning. Inside is a bit tired, and badly laid out. But what I did have problems with was getting directions to the Hotel were non-existent on Google and reception struggled ot explain well to me - we got there in the end.. THis might seem nit picking, but The coffee was just normal and for a premium hotel I expect ground coffee from a machine or filter, and the breakfast was overcooked and slow in coming. Fruit offered was poor. THe staff sit in the kitchen when they are not serving and was annoying when I needed to ask something.Perfectly pleasant and efficeint otherwise. I have paid a lot less in other hotels and got much more.

Great location, comfortable room and good service. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice although could’ve been better staffed.

Best hotel in Norwich. Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Best eggs Benedict I've had for some time at breakfast.
