米德爾索普Spa飯店(Middlethorpe Hall & Spa)

I purchased a gift package last year which my wife chose to use this weekend. We started with some great treatments in the spa ( deep tissue massage and rose facial for my wife) before heading into the hotel to book into room 1 which is super comfortable with a whopping 4 poster bed. We went for a walk into Bishopsgate and you can go down to the river. We dined in the hotel and opted for the tasting menu and wine flight. The meal was absolutely sumptuous (one of the best I have ever had) and the wine which came with the meal was well chosen. Maybe the staff could have explained why the wine choices had been made for each dish ( but I’m quibbling here). We felt the staff and facilities and fine dining were super and would love to return in the future ( brekkie was top notch too!).

This was my second visit to Middlethorpe and it didn’t disappoint. I received a very warm welcome, my case was whisked up to my room and check in at reception was quick and efficient. Dinner in the wood-panelled restaurant was delightful and the food superb. Staff were attentive and friendly, very efficient but discreet. My room was warm and everything I needed was provided. I think Middlethorpe is the ideal place to stay when visiting York. Just blissful!

Based on phone enquiry only. Wanted to book private dining room for 15 family members. Result? Hotel won’t accept children under 6, nor provide different food options for children. As I was about to book an event estimated to cost over £800, one would expect flexibility and a desire to make occasions memorable, but a poor response instead.

From the planning of our stay with hotel staff to our leaving we were extremely well looked after! The friendly hotel staff work long hours to ensure guests are welcome and comfortable. Our last night was a private dining event. It proved to be a wonderful way to end the stay. The cuisine was exceptional and the staff well versed regarding the ingredients of dishes and pairing of wines. Breakfast is a leisurely affair with views across the grounds. As you walk in the formal gardens there are the herbs and vegetables for your evening meal. Beautiful rooms and even an extra sitting room upstairs. The spa is bijoux but relaxing. There is no extraneous noise of traffic during a treatment. There are very good transport links and choice of transportation as well. You can walk from the hotel into York via the river and race course.

You are made to feel like royalty before you even get through the door & throughout your stay. We have had dinner & Afternoon Tea here many times. And enjoyed the spa & treatments. Excellent. Absolutely beautiful gardens. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had a wonderful afternoon tea here today to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday. From start to finish the staff were wonderfully attentive. Special thanks to Cedric and the other lovely waiter whose name I didn’t catch. The tea itself was delicious and a great afternoon was had by all. Thank you!.

We chose Middlethorpe Hall to celebrate a special anniversary and our stay was everything we hoped it would be to mark the occasion. We arrived to a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any member of the hotel team. The hotel is a National Trust hotel and we felt we were staying in a stately home. The surroundings felt palatial but the atmosphere was relaxed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. It was expensive but worth the money. Similarly, the breakfast menu included everything that you would require. The service was impeccable and we were greeted by name by the staff who served us. We had a four-poster room and the bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in during a hotel stay. Our room was on the third floor and on occasions we used the lift. It was a bit of a squeeze but it must be remembered that this is a historic hotel and wasn't built with lifts in mind. The hotel is within walking distance of York Racecourse and there is bus stop across the road where we could get a bus into the city centre. Overall, we can say that Middlethorpe Hall surpassed all expectations. We can't recommend it highly enough.
