桑給巴爾塞雷納飯店(Zanzibar Serena Hotel)

Excellent hotel with exceptional staff, great food and lovely bedrooms. The Serena is a literal oasis from the chaos of Stonetown and I could not fault it at all. We had a great time here and I'd be delighted to return again in the future. (Providing I can still make it up all those stairs!) I was reading a novel set in Zanzibar whilst here and it was a joy to read about the hotel, whilst literally staying in it.

Das Hotel wäre unsere erste Station auf unserer Reise im südlichen Afrika... gewesen... Wir kamen so kurz vor Mitternacht müde im Hotel an. Nach einer kurzen herzlichen Begrüssung durch den Manager eröffnete uns dieser, dass der Gouverneur (offenbar seeehr kurzfristig innerhalb eines Tages!?) das ganze Hotel gebucht habe - und wir deshalb in ein anderes (Hotel Neela) wechseln müssen. Wie gesagt, wir waren zu müde, um gross zu protestieren, jedoch war dies nicht die erhoffte Begrüssung in Afrika, ein völliges Nogo! Das Neela hatte natürlich weder Meersicht, noch einen Pool und war teurer als das Serena - wie bereits ausgedrückt: ein völliger Flopp! 0 Punkte für das Hotel wegen nicht vorhandener Gastfreundschaft!

My husband, son and I stayed here for one night to explore Stone Town. The location was perfect - only a short trip from the airport and right in the heart of Stone Town - just round the corner from the Freddie Mercury museum. The word that springs to mind when I think of this hotel is "grand". From the fountain in reception, to the ornate carved wood - which is everywhere, even on the fire extinguisher cupboards! - to the building itself, it has an old world colonial feel. I loved it! Our room was two bedrooms and one bathroom in a suite - very nice! We had a small balcony which had a side sea view which was perfect for sitting on to have an early morning coffee. Breakfast was a vast buffet featuring cereals, breads and spreads, a wide range of hot items, deli meats and fishes, cheeses, fruit and a chef cooking eggs to order, all served in a beautiful dining room overlooking the white sands and the turquoise sea. Completed baffled how one of the other reviewers couldn't find something to eat! We walked around Stone Town then returned to sit next to the pool, enjoy a couple of drinks and watch the world go by on the beach. The service was excellent and I have no reservations in recommending this hotel.

Excellent historic location in Stonetown, beachfront and close to everything. The staff was really friendly, and was able to help me out with an early arrival. The room was very comfortable. The pool was great as well. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices. I had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good as well. The doorman went above and beyond to help me get my suitcase fixed since the wheel was broken by Air Tanzania.

Very helpful, attentive staff, from the front desk personnel to the room staff. The location is beautiful, on the water, although the beach is not that inviting for tourists. It is a convenient walk to most attractions. Food at the hotel restaurant, especially breakfast, was very good, although service outside of the buffet could be spotty. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. My only criticism would be of the concierge, who promised to meet us at a certain time to aggange a side trip and was nowhere to be found.

I used to stop in this hotel in Stonetown. Very welcome staff and helpful. Always ready to assist with any solution and help! Highly recommended! Very nice location and good customer care from staff from GM to portier...

Super Service und tolle Infrastruktur mit direktem Meer und Stadtzugang. Wir sind schon zum 4. mal da und werden nie enttäuscht. Fühlen uns perfekt aufgehoben und werden immer wieder gerne kommen. Das Personal ist persönlich und immer zu Spässen aufgelegt.
