The place to go to escape the crowds.We read about Layan Beach in a local magazine article touting it as one of the 3 best “unknown” beaches in Phuket. While not really unknown, Layan Beach does not suffer from the overcrowding and mass of humanity at the more popular Patong Beach. What Layan Beach offers is a beautiful sandy beach that has just enough amenities to make your stay at the beach quite enjoyable. There are numerous places to rent loungers and umbrellas or shade and a beachside restaurant that was very convenient for a lunch break. Layan Beach is in a protected cove and seemed to be a nice quiet, friendly, beach to spend the day. FYI, there were a few topless bathers along the beach but they didn’t bite and nobody really paid attention. Just a friendly bit of info for families.
