It’s been a long time since I was last in a youth hostel, and as a now 45 year old man there is probably a reason for this. Arriving late on the Tuesday night with fond memories of dorm parties and tequila slammers, I was greeted by what I initially thought was captain Jack Sparrow, but who actually transpired to be a very friendly chap who helped us to navigate the intricacies of the main entrance. Door buzzed, suitcases lifted up the stairs and ugh who let mum and dad in looks absorbed, we were handed our keys by a lovely member of the team alongside vouchers for two free shots. Enthusiastically we were informed that the bar was open until 1am that night, although we had missed the pub crawl for the evening. I’m flattered I guess, however we decided to give the shots a miss in favour of a nice sleep. Yup, Father Time catches up with us all… We had a private double with a shared bathroom, and although very small it was comfortable enough. The pillow has perhaps seen better days, but the A/C was a life saver! Spending the days walking around town and doing some gentle exploring, the nights were largely spent for myself at least in the bar area downstairs. It’s a small but perfectly functional area, and in all honesty wasn’t the screaming mess of teenagers away from home for the first time that I had been expecting. At 3 euros a pint I was certainly very happy to sit and read whilst various cool young things did their thing in the background. Declining participation in the pub crawl for a second time, I was tempted with the tapas tasting but plans for the night changed due to friends arriving a day early and diner reservations being made. From a comfort point of view, our bathroom was shared between three double rooms I believe on the third floor, and this was never an issue. I attribute this to the fact that we were likely on very different schedules with us going out for the day and back for the night, as opposed to the perhaps more night based activities of our fellow residents. Bedroom like I said small, but hey, who cares, we weren’t here to sit in a room all day. The breakfast was absolutely fine, and for 5 euros a day you really cannot complain. All in all very happy with my stay, though peeking into an open dorm room one day my god I wouldn’t have survived the week unless you could take 25 years off me! Good job though overall Sant Jordi, and I’d certainly consider staying again - safe, friendly and somewhere I’m sure 20 year old me would have had a blast!

The hostel's name says it all - this hostel is ideally located in the heart of Lisbon within walking distance of most of the major monuments the city has to offer. My girlfriend and I allocated 2 days to Lisbon and 1 to Sintra and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the 8-bed dorms. The rooms and amenities of this hostel exceeded our expectations as our 1st foray into hostel traveling. The staff were extremely kind as well and were helpful in helping us plan an early morning (4 am) transport to the airport. There were a few small details we wish we could change. For one, we had a bit of bad luck in that one of our roommates was sick and spent most of the night coughing relentlessly keeping most members of our room awake. Additionally, despite meeting many friendly faces, the hostel did not feel as openly social as other hostels we stayed our throughout our two week Europe trip

I read on Nomadic Matt's Web site that this place is the gold standard of hostels. Having never stayed in one before, I have no comparison, but I can't argue with that evaluation. I had reservations about staying in a hostel, but I was very happy with this one. They provide a continental style breakfast in the morning and offer lots of activities to do. I did the walking tour one day and met two new friends from the same hostile who went on it as well. What I really like about this place is they have the option of private rooms if you don't want to share with a stranger. I took that option because I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine at night. No problems with noise and the place is very secure. You can only access the building with a key card or by having them buzz you in or out.

Hôtel propre avec une bonne ambiance. Cependant il y’a eu un petit souci au niveau du check-in j’avais réservé une chambre solo avec un lit simple mais pour eux c’était un lit dans un dortoir. Finalement ils se sont arrangés pour me mettre dans une chambre avec un lit queen size j’étais refait.

旅捨地理位置優越。如果您開車來，旁邊就有一個很大的停車場，旁邊還有一個自動取款機。地鐵站和巴士站就在附近。後街有許多當地糕點店、餐館和小商店。這些東西很友好，樂於助人。床很舒服，枕頭上方有 2 個插座和一個“夜燈”，非常方便。您還會得到一個位於床下的儲物櫃——這個儲物櫃很大，非常適合存放您的東西，直到您的室友遲到或早退時，它才會發出很大的噪音。淋浴不是很乾淨，但我見過更糟的情況，至少你得到的皂液器實際上里面有肥皂，浴室裡還有吹風機。 wifi 功率很大，在旅館的任何地方都很好用。露台的設計真的很好，在風不大的日子裡是社交的好地方😆

Vila Garden was a great place for us to stay for our city break to Lisbon. Handily placed on a major thoroughfare and equidistant between two underground stops on the Green Line, it was very well placed to get us away from the hustle / bustle of the big squares near Rossio. The hotel itself was very clean and modern, staff could not have been more helpful and the room itself was great (401). The only gripe we have is the lack of a lift, meaning a hard carry of a big case up 5 flights of stairs. Other than that we would recommend the hotel no problem.

What a wonderful, but entirely individual, experience. The set up is one side is a hostel (quite a nice one), where reception, casual tapas restaurant and breakfast are served. The other side is the suites, with a rooftop bar and smart restaurant. The character is faded elegance, shabby chic - entirely purposely and is so authentic. The vibe is superb service from a young, friendly and efficient staff. If you want a suited and booted experience, go elsewhere and probably get worse service. The rooms are of average size, although mine, in comparison with my friends’ had a HUGE bathroom. High ceiling make the rooms feel airy. Proper antique shutters make for a proper blackout experience. The rooms do have areas with peeling paint and could be described as rustic for some - but they are clean and charming and we were delighted. If you want a quiet venue - do not come here - it is noisy, it is in a central location with bars and restaurants around. That said, it is perfectly located to get everywhere in Lisbon. The breakfast which you attend with the hostel residents (who were all lovely) was super, with a good selection - would have liked a little prepared fresh fruit - you can order specialist coffees and hot food as included in the suites rate (these extras have to be paid for by the hostel residents). The same area, with its terrace, houses a tapas restaurant which we visited on the first night. Superb food and service. The rooftop bar is a real treat. AMAZING views with excellent vibe and service. The restaurant beside it we did not visit as did not appeal, but no reason to suspect it wasn’t anything other than fab - as v busy! Lastly, the young chaps on the reception desk were soooo helpful and friendly - perfect English and the wonderful lady in charge of breakfast has to have a mention - what a character and such a super person to have there for the younger travellers. Looking at the reviews, some people just don’t “get it” - it is a different experience from a modern, chain hotel - but we found it wonderful. We heard they are going to be opening other places, but judging by the descriptions, they will be different to this - we would love for them to open things JUST LIKE THIS in other European cities - it is a one off currently and we would like to see more.

我爲一間房間付了175€/晚上,包含早餐,早餐不特別,但是考慮到環境,那時過得很快。有點不尋常的要求客人洗掉他付費175歐元/夜的早餐所花的,但最終還是一次漫漫的劇集,它只是在過去的一次經歷中加上了。最不好的部分是預訂一個有一木在中間的雙人牀的房間,或者是在牀一邊或另一邊睡覺,收取這些價值時,要小心一些人細節!其實, 非常心的員工和整體的經驗不錯.

this was a quick stop for me, the staff was cool and friendly. the chillito had great fish tacos for dinner. the pancakes for breakfast were delicious. the facilities and space was fine for the night. its a good location, near town. Selina is beautiful and super chic. the views are amazing.
