維耶爾宗Campanile住宿

This was our first time to stay in a Campanile Hotel and we were under the impression that they were normally of a higher standard than other Motorway convenient hotels This is definitely not so. In view of Covid 19 we were a little apprehensive of a hotel stay but it was necessary as we were travelling from North Wales to the south of France. As we are of the venerable age with underlying health issues we decided to take our own food for the two day journey, After booking in with a not the usual nice French welcome we receive each year we went to our room which they stated was a quiet room. It was in the block closest to the Motorway. The whole of the outside of the premises looked shabby and our room, No 24, had a massive crack in the toilet bowl, (not very hygienic) and two holes in the bathroom wall where the towel rail had fallen off at some time. In view of the fact that we had brought sandwiches as we didn't know the restaurant situation in France, and our vulnerability, we asked if we could just sit down at one of the many empty tables outside and eat our sandwiches. We were told that ”IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE” !!! There was one chair in our room so we sat on the chair and the bedside cabinet. It was extremely hot and the air con was not working in our room or in the neighbour's room. The neighbour called reception and a man called round and insisted it was working. It was warmer in the room than it was outside!! In the ”Cheaper” hotels we have always had security gates, there were non here. I would definitely not recommend Campanile Vierzon and will not be staying there again
